They already sound "real" enough as far as I'm concerned.

Check out Improtek and Metronaut to see what "virtual singers" might be able to do in the future.

As time goes on, so will the sampling and we can hope for vocaloids voice not to sound as robotic/inhuman/generated as now(though it's one of the reason I love them), making them more approachable to the common folks. The good thing with them si that someone who's bad at singing but good at composing can produce his own songs without relying on another singer, and thus gets the full recognition for the song.Īre their days numbered? I don't think so. Just as the voice is considered to be an instrument, I consider virtual singers as instrument as well. Are you vocaloid user, fan or both? Tell about your musical experience and share your vocaloid works if you like. What's your favorite voices and music styles? Tell about your favorite vocaloid producers and what you like about them. What's your opinion on utaite who cover vocaloid songs as well as singers who translate these songs to other languages in order to "cover" them? How do you feel about the fact that these people (being human singers) just lure listeners of virtual singers by exploiting original material that's not their own?.Don't you think that vocaloid has somewhat negative reputation outside its community for stated reasons? Be it arrangements, composition, sound or all of the above. In other words, it lacks "professional touch" that you usually hear on big hit songs and such. Vocaloid was created with the idea of consumer-generated content in mind, as a result, majority of this content is made by amateurs who not always understand well what they do.What do you think about the future of virtual singers? As we all know, vocaloid is still niche thing in modern music, do you think their days are numbered or we will yet to see their biggest success?.Not sure that we can have serious discussion on this topic here but anyway, I would like you to answer on this little poll.Īnd since English is not my first language, I apologize for my grammar beforehand.
